In recent months, CTK students have participated in annual academic competitions with many student qualifying for state competitions.
High School students traveled to Waco after Spring Break to compete in academic, speech and art events across a three-day schedule. Congratulations to these students who placed in their events:
Mark B. – 8th place in Spanish
Eric C. – 7th place in Social Studies
Thomas C. – 4th place in Photo Color & 7th place in Advanced Math
Analisa D. – 1st place Senior Art Portfolio, 2nd Place in Relief Art & 7th place in Seek n Sketch
Oliver J. – 5th place in Lincoln Douglas Debate & 8th place in Literary Criticism
Ana L – 2nd place in Spanish & 6th place in Senior Art Portfolio
Nathan O. – 3rd place in Math
Miley W. – 2nd place in Math
A total of 18 students traveled to Texas A&M University in College Station on March 27th-29th to compete in the Texas State Science & Engineering Fair. Some of these students were the same who participated in TAPPS State earlier in the week. Competition is tough at the state level, but junior Julia Z. earned the Science Toy Magic Award in the Plant Sciences division for her innovative project. Congratulations, Julia!
Academic state competitions will wrap up on Saturday, April 12th, when 40 students in 1st – 8th grades will compete at the State Private Schools Interscholastic Meet (PSIA) to be held at Texas State University in San Marcos. A record number of students qualified at the district meet to participate in the State Meet! We are so proud of your accomplishments and send you with prayers for State!
