Fifty CTK students in 5th – 12th grades competed in the South Plains Regional Science & Engineering Fair held on February 22nd at the United Supermarkets Arena on the Texas Tech campus.  There were over 280 projects represented by 25 schools at this year’s fair with a wide variety of physical and biological projects.

CTK students were awarded 41 blue ribbons and medals and 9 red ribbons.  Students were recognized with 41 special awards presented by various entities while six students were awarded scholarships.  28 students received trophies and qualified to compete in the state science fair at Texas A&M University on March 22-23. Two students were International Science & Engineering Fair (ISEF) medalists.  Senior Aaron Chaloupka was the silver medalist in the biological division, and junior Madison Chaloupka was the bronze medalist in the biological division.  Aaron will represent the South Plains area at the ISEF which will be held in Los Angeles, California in May.

Join us at First Monday All-School Mornng Prayer on Monday, 3/4, at. 8:15am in the gym when we will announce all winners and their awards.  Congratulations to everyone who participated and your ribbons and awards!  We look forward to seeing what you accomplish at the state meet!
